I don't have an answer but am seeking one for my mop which has just stopped working same as above. What was Andy's suggestion (Mar 11) which Sue R found satisfactory this month?

Unlike your correspondents I love my Hometek steam mop which I have had for years without problems as long as I use the right water and descale occasionally (usually with vinegar). However today I couldn't get it to work. Followed Andy's suggestion (Mar 11) and within seconds it was steaming. Just finished my large kitchen floor. result! Thanks, Andy and the internet!

yes you can use white vinegar diluted in water to clean your mop. I have just done ot and it worked a treat. make sure that you have the mop positioned so the steam goes into the air. Allow all water to disperse then refill with clean water and and allow that to disperse also. The downside is the smell of vinegar.

more of a supplemental question :
I'm taking my Light'n'Easy steam mop apart as Steve ( July 2009) suggests
which hole is likley to be the blocked the one at the top or the one at bottom ?
Thanks

Tried Johns solution with no improvement then filled one third of tank with warm water, drop in a Steradent tablet leave for 15 minutes then warm up, clean and refill warm up. It worked for me.

Hi i had the same problem, the silver tank inside is blocked, take it apart and clear the scale blocking the hole in the silver tank, mine is as good as new now.

i THINK IT'S A PROBLEM OF LIMESTONE. YOU CAN TRY TO PUT WHITE VINEGAR IN THE TANK AND LIGHT UP. IT WILL BE TAKE A FEW MINUTES.
